The Gateway of india

Gateway of India is an arch monument built during the 20th century in Bombay, India. The monument was erected to commemorate the landing of King George V and Queen Mary at Apollo Bunder on their visit to India in 1911.


Gateway of India is open 24 hours for public. The Gateway is a major corner in Mumbai and it's frequently used as a symbol of the mega city. The Gateway is amongst the prime tourist attractions in Mumbai. The Gateway can host 2,000 to 2,500 people, whereas Elephanta Caves could host only 700 to 800.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, formerly known as Victoria Terminus Station, in Mumbai. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. The railway terminus was designed by the British-born architectural engineer Frederick William Stevens. The initial design was, however, Axel Herman Haig’s, a Swedish artist and architect. 


Marine Drive

Marine Drive is also known as the Queen's Necklace because, when viewed at night from an elevated point anywhere along the drive, the street lights resemble a string of pearls in a necklace. 

Marine Drive is a 3.6-kilometre-long Promenade along the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road in Mumbai, India. Often, the names Marine Drive and Marines are used interchangeably to refer to this 3.9 km stretch. The road and promenade were constructed by Pallonji Mistry. Mumbaikers will swear that the best time to visit Marine Drive is definitely in the evening and at night and the best way to enjoy the cool breeze is with a hot cup of thela chai or the extremely famous Mumbai bhel.


Elephanta Caves


The 'City of Caves', on an island in the Sea of Oman close to Bombay, contains a collection of rock art linked to the cult of Shiva. Here, Indian art has found one of its most perfect expressions, particularly the huge high reliefs in the main cave.


There are ferries from the Gateway of India that takes 1 hour to reach the Elephanta Island by sea. It is closed on Mondays and the Elephanta Caves timings are from 9am to 5pm. The carvings there, even in their damaged state, are exquisite.
